| WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Jeff Tankersley of Amarillo | ||
| on June 10, 2012, at the age of 48, has brought a tremendous loss to | ||
| his family and friends; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Born in Clovis, New Mexico, Jeff Tankersley is the | ||
| son of Joel and Sallye Tankersley; he grew up in Ralls, where he | ||
| attended high school, and following his graduation, he went on to | ||
| earn his bachelor's degree from Angelo State University and his law | ||
| degree from Texas Tech University; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Tankersley enjoyed a notable career as an | ||
| attorney and partner of the Sprouse Shrader Smith law firm; active | ||
| in his community, he served on the boards of the Ronald McDonald | ||
| House and the American Cancer Society; he also served the | ||
| congregation of First Baptist Church as a deacon, a Sunday school | ||
| teacher, and a basketball coordinator; and | ||
| WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Tankersley was blessed | ||
| with the support of his wife of 15 years, Amy, and their two | ||
| children, Caroline and Beck; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Although Jeff Tankersley's years on this earth ended | ||
| far too soon, cherished memories of time spent in his company will | ||
| long endure in the hearts of all those whose lives he touched; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Jeff Tankersley and | ||
| extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife, | ||
| Amy Tankersley; to his daughter, Caroline Tankersley; to his son, | ||
| Beck Tankersley; to his parents, Joel and Sallye Tankersley; to his | ||
| brother, Dean Tankersley, and his wife, Cindy; to his sister, | ||
| Krista Tankersley; to his grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. W. Winfred | ||
| Moore; to his mother-in-law, Anne Preston; to his brother-in-law, | ||
| James Preston, and his wife, Stacey; and to his other relatives and | ||
| many friends; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of | ||
| Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jeff | ||
| Tankersley. | ||
