| WHEREAS, Robert Recio and his family are reopening their | ||
| popular Corpus Christi restaurant, Recio's Smokehouse and | ||
| Catering, at a new location; and | ||
| WHEREAS, At its former location on Kostoryz Road, this unique | ||
| eatery has long been known for its mega-taco challenge; since 1999, | ||
| hundreds of determined diners have tried to finish the restaurant's | ||
| signature four-pound taco in 13 minutes; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Recio family are carrying on this tradition at | ||
| the smokehouse's new location on Old Brownsville Road, where they | ||
| have also built an outdoor stage and dance floor in order to host | ||
| live entertainment; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Locally owned enterprises contribute greatly to the | ||
| economic and cultural diversity of their communities, and the new | ||
| location of Recio's Smokehouse and Catering promises to attract | ||
| both old and new customers; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby commemorate the reopening of Recio's Smokehouse | ||
| and Catering and extend sincere best wishes to Robert Recio and his | ||
| family for continued success in their new location; and, be it | ||
| further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for the restaurant as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
