| WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced | ||
| by a great and enduring love, Robert and Carol Callis of El Paso | ||
| celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on February 4, 2011; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Callis were united in matrimony on that | ||
| special day in 1951; through the years, they have nurtured a | ||
| fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the | ||
| addition of their children, David and his wife, Deborah, and Daniel | ||
| and his wife, Susanne, as well as three grandchildren, Stacy, | ||
| Stephanie, and Owen, and one great-grandchild, Tyvan; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Callis creates handcrafted leather goods, and he | ||
| is a retired noncommissioned officer of the U.S. Army who served | ||
| with distinction in Korea, Vietnam, and the first Gulf War; Mrs. | ||
| Callis has been a dedicated homemaker throughout the couple's | ||
| marriage; and | ||
| WHEREAS, While innumerable changes have taken place in the | ||
| world during the past six decades, this devoted husband and wife | ||
| have remained constant in their commitment to one another, and the | ||
| strength of their love has enabled them to meet life's challenges | ||
| and opportunities with grace and optimism; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Robert and Carol Callis on their | ||
| 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for | ||
| continued happiness; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Callis as an expression of high regard by | ||
| the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
