R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Minister Mariah L. Willis is serving as Pastor of
  the Day for the Texas House of Representatives on May 5, 2017; and
         WHEREAS, A licensed minister of The Potter's House of Dallas
  under the leadership of Bishop T. D. Jakes, Minister Willis has
  focused her efforts on local and international missionary work,
  including medical and philanthropic projects in Guatemala, Guyana,
  and Mexico; moreover, she is certified in advanced biblical
  counseling from the American Association of Christian Counselors;
  and
         WHEREAS, Minister Willis's dedication to serving others also
  informs her practice as a speech and language pathologist in the
  Dallas-Fort Worth area; this esteemed Texan holds bachelor's and
  master's degrees in speech and language disorders from West Texas
  A&M University; and
         WHEREAS, Through the years, Mariah Willis has inspired
  countless Texans with her message of faith, hope, and love, and we
  are indeed fortunate to have her with us today; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize Minister Mariah L. Willis as Pastor of
  the Day on May 5, 2017, and extend to her sincere best wishes for
  continued success in her important work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Minister Willis as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
