| WHEREAS, Georgetown economic development director Mark | ||
| Thomas has deservedly been selected for the Owen Sherrill Lifetime | ||
| Achievement Award by the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, and this | ||
| achievement indeed merits special recognition; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A city employee for more than a decade, Mr. Thomas | ||
| is a fitting recipient of this notable honor; chosen for his | ||
| longtime commitment to the promotion of economic development in | ||
| Georgetown, he has been instrumental in bringing several new | ||
| companies to the area, as well as successfully retaining | ||
| established businesses; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Those individuals who give generously of their time | ||
| and talents strengthen the communities in which they live, and it is | ||
| a pleasure to recognize Mark Thomas for his contributions to the | ||
| greater good; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Mark Thomas on receiving the Owen | ||
| Sherrill Lifetime Achievement Award and extend to him sincere best | ||
| wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Thomas as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
