R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The success of our state government depends on the
  active involvement of concerned citizens, and Democratic women in
  Texas have long been enthusiastic contributors to the political
  process; and
         WHEREAS, With an emphasis on grassroots politics and
  activism, Democratic women work to enhance the role of women at all
  levels of government by encouraging qualified candidates to run for
  public office; their efforts help to ensure that women's voices are
  heard in our government; and
         WHEREAS, Although they come from diverse backgrounds and are
  affiliated with numerous organizations across the state, these
  dedicated individuals are united by their support for the
  Democratic Party; they volunteer countless hours to campaigns,
  voter registration drives, and precincts as they seek to increase
  Democratic representation at the national, state, and local levels;
  and
         WHEREAS, Democratic women are promoting civic participation
  among all Texans, and they may indeed reflect with great pride on
  the positive impact they have had on political life in the Lone Star
  State; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the Democratic women of Texas and extend
  to them sincere appreciation for their civic contributions.
