R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Ruben Reyes retired as constable for Precinct 2 of
  Webb County in January 2011, drawing to a close a notable career in
  law enforcement that spanned more than three and a half decades; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Laredo, Mr. Reyes is a 1969 graduate of
  Martin High School; he became a peace officer in 1974, and over the
  course of his exemplary tenure, he earned both a Medal of Valor and
  a Life-Saving Award from Webb County; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Reyes was first elected constable for Precinct 2
  in the late 1990s and distinguished himself in that position for
  more than 10 years, earning the respect and admiration of his
  constituents; and
         WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Ruben Reyes enjoys the love
  and support of his wife, Rosa, as well as their children,
  Alejandrina, Ruben, and Susana, and six grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan's devotion to duty and
  commitment to excellence have contributed to the safety and
  well-being of his fellow citizens, and Mr. Reyes may indeed reflect
  with pride on a career well spent as he embarks on the next exciting
  chapter of his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Ruben Reyes on his retirement from
  Webb County and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
  happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Reyes as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
