| WHEREAS, July 29, 2010, marked the 77th wedding anniversary | ||
| of Howard and Mary Conoway, providing a fitting opportunity to | ||
| reflect on their memorable journey together as husband and wife; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Conoway were high school sweethearts in | ||
| Norwood, Ohio, and they eloped to Newport, Kentucky, where they | ||
| were married in 1933; through the years, they have been blessed with | ||
| a treasured family that includes two children, seven grandchildren, | ||
| and nine great-grandchildren; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The couple moved to Houston in 1935, where | ||
| Mr. Conoway was employed by the Continental Can Company; after 32 | ||
| years in Houston and 12 in Virginia, the couple returned to Texas to | ||
| retire; residents of The Wilderness community, they enjoy traveling | ||
| on cruises and playing games, and they are active in their church; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, The 77 years of marriage that Mr. and Mrs. Conoway | ||
| have shared is eloquent affirmation of the meaning of love and | ||
| commitment, and their enduring union is an inspiration to all who | ||
| know them; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Howard and Mary Conoway on their | ||
| 77th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for | ||
| continued happiness; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Conoway as an expression of high regard by | ||
| the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
