	H.R. No. 515



	R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, Clark Hunt of Dallas and the other members of the
	Hunt family are celebrating the Kansas City Chiefs' victory in
	Super Bowl LVII on February 12, 2023, the latest championship
	triumph by the team that the family has owned since 1960; and
	WHEREAS, The Chiefs made a thrilling comeback to triumph
	38-35 over the Philadelphia Eagles in the 2023 NFL title game; the
	win earned Kansas City its second Vince Lombardi Trophy in the past
	four years, following a victory in the 2020 Super Bowl, and the
	Chiefs also won Super Bowl IV in 1970; and
	WHEREAS, The team was originally established by Lamar Hunt,
	Clark's father, as the Dallas Texans, and the franchise moved to
	Kansas City in 1963; Clark Hunt took charge of the Chiefs
	organization in 2005, the year before his father passed away;
	today, he oversees the team in his position as chairman and CEO of
	the Dallas-based Hunt Sports Group, which is also involved with
	several other professional franchises; he has been instrumental in
	the Chiefs' recent success, hiring head coach Andy Reid in 2013 and
	helping to build a championship-caliber staff; and
	WHEREAS, The other members of the family who hold an
	ownership stake in the team are Clark's siblings, Dan Hunt, Sharron
	Hunt, and Lamar Hunt Jr., as well as their mother, Norma Hunt; since
	the inaugural 1967 Super Bowl in which the Chiefs met the Green Bay
	Packers, Norma has regularly attended the title game showcases; and
	WHEREAS, For over six decades, the Hunt family has played a
	prominent and influential role in the world of professional sports,
	and its members may indeed reflect with pride on this latest
	championship achievement; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
	Legislature hereby congratulate Clark Hunt and the other members of
	the Hunt family on the Kansas City Chiefs' 2023 Super Bowl victory;
	and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
	prepared for Clark Hunt as an expression of high regard by the House
	of Representatives.
