| WHEREAS, School boards play a crucial role in meeting the | ||
| diverse educational needs of the children in their districts, and | ||
| Mia Price is indeed deserving of recognition for her service as | ||
| president of the Denton Independent School District; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The mission of public schools throughout the state | ||
| and nation is to empower children to become productive contributors | ||
| to society in an ever-changing world; to that end, Ms. Price works | ||
| closely with other school board members, as well as with parents, | ||
| teachers, and community leaders, to set policies that promote a | ||
| learning environment in which all students have a chance to thrive; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, This notable Texan has demonstrated a truly | ||
| exemplary commitment to area students and brings a set of skills and | ||
| a range of experience that contribute immeasurably to the | ||
| successful operation of Denton ISD; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby commend Mia Price for her | ||
| service as a member of the Denton Independent School District Board | ||
| of Trustees and extend to her sincere appreciation for her | ||
| outstanding service to the community; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Price as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
