	H.R. No. 504



	R E S O L U T I O N

	WHEREAS, Dave Kilby has been honored with the 2012 Spirit of
	the Chamber Award from the Lake Houston Area Chamber of Commerce for
	his dedicated leadership and volunteerism; and
	WHEREAS, A valued member of the chamber since 2002, Mr. Kilby
	has served on the board of directors for the past six years and as a
	member of the executive committee for two years; he has helped to
	recruit and retain members and to boost participation in chamber
	activities through his work as chair and co-chair of the ambassador
	volunteer program; moreover, he has participated in numerous
	functions and staffed booths at local events, and for three
	consecutive years, he has garnered the most funds for the chamber
	through sponsorships as part of the Total Resource Campaign; and
	WHEREAS, Mr. Kilby is a graduate of Eastern Michigan
	University and has enjoyed a career in the franchise and food
	industries for over three decades; in addition to earning a number
	of leadership awards and sales recognitions, he was granted the
	Certified Franchise Executive designation by the International
	Franchise Association and was involved in certification
	development for that same body; and
	WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Kilby enjoys the love and
	support of a family that includes his wife, Karen, who works with
	him in operating their business, K2 Enterprises; and
	WHEREAS, Through his tireless civic engagement, Dave Kilby
	has contributed greatly to the success of both the chamber and the
	community at large, and this well-deserved award is a fitting
	tribute to his outstanding record of service; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
	Legislature hereby congratulate Dave Kilby on his receipt of the
	2012 Spirit of the Chamber Award from the Lake Houston Area Chamber
	of Commerce and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
	success; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
	prepared for Mr. Kilby as an expression of high regard by the Texas
	House of Representatives.
