	H.R. No. 487



	R E S O L U T I O N
	WHEREAS, A 70th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
	mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Buck and Melba Griffin
	of North Richland Hills celebrated this joyous milestone in their
	marriage on July 24, 2017; and
	WHEREAS, A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, Buck Griffin met
	the former Melba Archer at a dance in New Mexico, and they exchanged
	wedding vows in Fort Worth in 1947; over the years, the couple have
	been blessed with a treasured family that includes their three
	children, Candyce, Mark, and Brad, as well as their nine
	grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and
	WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mr. and
	Mrs. Griffin both work in real estate, and they have a number of
	developments in Wise County; and
	WHEREAS, Buck and Melba Griffin have enjoyed seven decades of
	abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an
	exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
	commitment; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
	Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Buck and Melba
	Griffin on their 70th wedding anniversary and extend to them
	sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further

	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
	prepared for the couple as an expression of high regard by the Texas
	House of Representatives.
