| WHEREAS, A number of current and former McGregor High School | ||
| students received a great honor when their artwork was published | ||
| through the Cards for Kids program of Cook Children's Medical | ||
| Center in Fort Worth in 2012; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Woman's Board of the medical | ||
| center, the Cards for Kids initiative promotes holiday-themed | ||
| greeting cards designed by young artists; proceeds from sales | ||
| support the board's mission of enhancing the child-friendly | ||
| environment at the medical center; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The 2012 designs included drawings from McGregor | ||
| High School students Maria Torres, Alan Hollingsworth, Celestino | ||
| Trejo, Maria and Raunel Suarez, Brenna Oakes, Lily Martinez, | ||
| Jessika Foit, and Courtney White; and | ||
| WHEREAS, These notable Texans have demonstrated talent and | ||
| creativity while contributing to the well-being of others, and they | ||
| may take justifiable pride in their achievement; now, therefore, be | ||
| it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate the current and former McGregor | ||
| High School students whose artwork was published by the Cook | ||
| Children's Medical Center Cards for Kids program in 2012 and extend | ||
| to them sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it | ||
| further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for the students as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
