	H.R. No. 477



	R E S O L U T I O N

	WHEREAS, The Pflugerville Independent School District has
	been named to the seventh annual AP District Honor Roll by the
	College Board; and
	WHEREAS, Inclusion on this honor roll is based on an
	examination of AP data covering the period from 2014 through 2016;
	to qualify for this distinction, a district must have increased
	advanced placement course access for underrepresented students
	while also maintaining or improving the percentage of students
	earning AP exam scores of three or higher; and
	WHEREAS, Ably guided by superintendent Dr. Alex Torrez,
	Pflugerville ISD was one of just 22 public school districts in Texas
	to earn this honor in 2016 and one of only two school districts in
	Central Texas to make the AP District Honor Roll in both 2015 and
	2016; and
	WHEREAS, This prestigious national recognition is a
	testament to the hard work and dedication of the faculty, staff, and
	students of Pflugerville ISD, and they may indeed reflect with
	pride on this achievement as they work together to prepare for the
	challenges and opportunities of the future; now, therefore, be it
	RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
	Legislature hereby congratulate the Pflugerville Independent
	School District on its selection to the seventh annual AP District
	Honor Roll and commend all those associated with the district for
	their dedicated efforts; and, be it further
	RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
	prepared for the district as an expression of high regard by the
	Texas House of Representatives.
