H.R. No. 474

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Lori L. Gunn was honored with the 2010 Exceptional
Service Award at the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce Annual Gala on
February 4, 2011; and
WHEREAS, The Exceptional Service Award is presented to men
and women who distinguish themselves by sharing their talents,
expertise, and leadership skills to assist in a variety of chamber
functions; and
WHEREAS, A truly deserving recipient, Ms. Gunn has been a
valued member of the organization since 2004; she has helped to lead
the chamber as a member of the board of directors and further
benefited the group through her contributions to such important
events as the Annual Gala, the Katy Rice Harvest Festival, and Home
for the Holidays Gift Market; and
WHEREAS, Ms. Gunn has also been active in the greater
community; in addition to her work as a founding member of the Katy
Performing Arts Society, she has served as treasurer of the Katy
Heritage Society, board member and treasurer of ARTreach, secretary
of P-16 West Houston Council, and member of the CHRISTUS St.
Catherine Hospital Advisory Council; her efforts also include
chairing the Houston Aeros Charities and volunteering with CAPS
Foster Home and Home Delivered Meals of Katy; and
WHEREAS, An accomplished professional, Ms. Gunn has had a
notable career, with tenures as vice president of Bricker + Cannady
Architects, controller of PWM Electronic Price Signs and Lamoureux
Associates, and social editor for Katy Lifestyles and Homes
magazine; and
WHEREAS, Lori Gunn has demonstrated a lasting commitment to
making Katy an even better place in which to live and work, and in so
doing, she has earned the deep respect and appreciation of her
fellow residents; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Lori L. Gunn on the 2010
Exceptional Service Award from the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce
and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success and
happiness; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Gunn as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
