R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of Mary Alice Chaney of Frisco, who passed away on October 13, 2014,
  at the age of 93; and
         WHEREAS, The former Mary Adkins was born on December 8, 1920,
  in Forreston to Cader Dale Adkins and Nettie Elizabeth Appling; she
  shared a rewarding marriage of nearly 60 years with Earnest Ray
  Chaney, and the couple were blessed with two daughters, Kay and
  Johnna Sue; with the passing years, she experienced the joy of
  welcoming three additional generations into her family; and
         WHEREAS, For much of her adult life, Mrs. Chaney was an
  active church member, initially at First Baptist Church in Mineola
  and later at Lamar Baptist Church in Arlington; additionally, she
  was talented at bridge and played in tournaments with many
  different clubs over a span of five decades, achieving the
  prestigious title of Life Master; and
         WHEREAS, Mary Alice Chaney treasured the time she spent in
  the company of her loved ones, and she is deeply missed by all those
  who held her dear; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Mary Alice Chaney
  and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her
  daughters, Kay English and her husband, John, and Johnna Sue Smith
  and her husband, Scott; to her brothers, Cader Dale Adkins Jr. and
  Charles Adkins; to her sister, Carolyn Arnold; to her
  grandchildren, John Chaney English and his wife, April, Suzanne
  Smith, Heather Harrison and her husband, Mike, and Stephen Smith;
  to her 10 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; and
  to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mary Alice
  Chaney.
