H.R. No. 417

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Members of the Fort Bend Leadership Forum are
visiting the State Capitol February 22 and 23, 2017, to gain further
insight into the workings of state government; and
WHEREAS, Organized in 1987 by the Fort Bend Chamber of
Commerce, this outstanding program fosters community stewardship
and volunteerism; participants include individuals from the areas
of business, labor, religion, government, and civic and nonprofit
associations who take advantage of creative learning opportunities
to hone their leadership skills and develop a deeper understanding
of how things work in their county; and
WHEREAS, Training sessions focus on such subjects as criminal
justice, diversity, health and social services, infrastructure and
economic development, municipal and county government, and state
and national government; facilitators emphasize the importance of
teamwork and collaboration and highlight the opportunities and
challenges facing the Fort Bend area; and
WHEREAS, Through its efforts to foster a more informed and
engaged citizenry, the Fort Bend Leadership Forum is helping to
build a bright and promising future for the county and the Lone Star
State; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby recognize February 22 and 23, 2017, as Fort Bend
Chamber Leadership Forum Days at the State Capitol and extend to the
visiting delegation sincere best wishes for an informative and
enjoyable stay in Austin.
