R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
  of Luther B. Rogers of Llano, who passed away on December 14, 2018,
  at the age of 85; and
         WHEREAS, Born on January 31, 1933, in Houston, Luke Rogers
  served his country in the armed forces as both an active duty
  soldier and a member of the reserve; during his three decades in the
  military, he completed combat tours in Korea and Vietnam and
  received assignments to various locations in the United States and
  Europe; he later participated in a number of veterans organizations
  and reunions; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Rogers was also involved in the scouting
  movement throughout his life, holding numerous volunteer positions
  before eventually becoming a professional scouter; he attained the
  rank of Eagle Scout, and he was awarded a 75-year service pin; this
  esteemed Texan further contributed to his community as a bailiff
  for the Llano court system; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Rogers enjoyed the love
  and support of his wife, Teddy, with whom he shared a rewarding
  marriage that spanned 61 years; he was the proud father of two sons,
  Flem and William, and with the passing years, he had the pleasure of
  welcoming into his family two grandchildren, Luther and Anna; and
         WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to the betterment of the world around
  him and to the well-being of his fellow citizens, Luke Rogers led a
  rich and purposeful life, and he will forever be remembered with
  deep affection by all who knew him; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 86th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Luther B. Rogers
  and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Tokuyo "Teddy" Morita Rogers; to his sons, Flem Edward Rogers
  and William Roy Rogers; to his daughter-in-law, Sheryl Carughi
  Rogers; to his grandchildren, Luther John Rogers and Anna Catherine
  Rogers; to his sisters, Edna Rogers Eaton and Susan Rogers
  Anderson; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Luther
  B. Rogers.
