R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Honorable M. Rex Emerson retired from the 198th
  Judicial District Court in Kerr and Bandera Counties on December
  31, 2022, after 13 years on the bench; and
         WHEREAS, Licensed by the State Bar of Texas, Judge Emerson
  has worked as an attorney in Kerr County for more than two decades;
  he previously served as the Kerr County attorney, a position he held
  for five years, and he spent two years as the county's
  administrative judge; and
         WHEREAS, As a member of the Kerr County Juvenile Board, Judge
  Emerson has made vital contributions to the fair and proper
  administration of juvenile justice; moreover, he is a volunteer
  judge for the Kerr County Specialty Court, which he initiated in
  2019; and
         WHEREAS, Through his dedication, professionalism, and
  commitment to the law, Judge Emerson has greatly benefited the
  citizens of Kerr County, and he may indeed reflect with pride on his
  accomplishments as he embarks on the next exciting chapter of his
  life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Honorable M. Rex Emerson on his
  retirement from the 198th Judicial District Court and extend to him
  sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Judge Emerson as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
