| WHEREAS, Beau Swimmer of the Dumas High School FFA chapter | ||
| was presented with the Lone Star FFA Degree at the 89th annual Texas | ||
| FFA State Convention held July 10-14, 2017, in Corpus Christi; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The highest degree of membership awarded at the | ||
| state level, the Lone Star FFA Degree recognizes members who have | ||
| distinguished themselves by demonstrating exceptional commitment | ||
| to the organization as well as outstanding leadership skills; in | ||
| addition to completing the agricultural science course | ||
| requirements, recipients must also maintain a supervised | ||
| agricultural experience program, perform community service, and | ||
| participate in a number of events, conventions, meetings, and | ||
| activities above the chapter level; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This exemplary young Texan has brought great pride | ||
| to his family, school, and community, and he may indeed look forward | ||
| with optimism and anticipation to the myriad opportunities that lie | ||
| ahead; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby congratulate Beau Swimmer | ||
| on his receipt of the Lone Star FFA Degree and extend to him sincere | ||
| best wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Swimmer as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
