R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Allison Woodington of the Amarillo Independent
  School District was selected as the Region 16 Texas Elementary
  Teacher of the Year for 2014-15; and
         WHEREAS, The Texas Teacher of the Year program, run by the
  Texas Association of School Administrators, distinguishes faculty
  members who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to
  education; in recognition of her exemplary work as a kindergarten
  teacher at Carver Early Childhood Academy, Allison Woodington was
  named Elementary Teacher of the Year for Amarillo ISD in May 2014;
  she went on to receive the same commendation for Region 16 at the i3
  Conference in August; and
         WHEREAS, During her four years at Carver Academy,
  Ms. Woodington prepared her kindergarten students for the rest of
  their educational careers through a unique mix of active
  engagement, innovative technology, and group work; the children
  would solve problems together or teach each other new concepts,
  improving their understanding of the content while promoting social
  skills; in addition to her classroom duties, Ms. Woodington also
  served as the school's administrative assistant, courtesy
  committee leader, PR representative, and head of her grade level;
  and
         WHEREAS, This Dallas native currently works as a curriculum
  assessment specialist at Coronado Elementary School; she has a
  master's degree in educational leadership from West Texas A&M
  University, and she is affiliated with the Texas Classroom Teachers
  Association; and
         WHEREAS, Through her enthusiasm, personal involvement, and
  dedication to her students, Allison Woodington has set a remarkable
  example of leadership and innovation to which others may aspire,
  and it is a privilege to recognize this noteworthy educator at this
  time; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Allison Woodington on being named
  Elementary Teacher of the Year for Region 16 and extend to her
  sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Woodington as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
