| WHEREAS, The thousands of deaths caused by COVID-19 in Texas | ||
| have created a tremendous void in families, communities, and | ||
| workplaces throughout the state; among those who lost their lives | ||
| in the pandemic was Clemente Rocha III, a dedicated and | ||
| well-respected employee of the Texas Department of Criminal | ||
| Justice, who passed away on November 18, 2020, at the age of 54; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Rocha enjoyed a rewarding career with the | ||
| Windham School District that spanned 25 years; he served as a | ||
| vocational teacher at the Fabian Dale Dominguez State Jail, where | ||
| he taught classes in computer aided drafting; in his leisure time, | ||
| he delighted in playing golf, listening to music, barbecuing, and | ||
| building model planes; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Sustained by a deep faith, Mr. Rocha considered his | ||
| wife, Yvette, and his daughters, Cassandra and Crystal, to be his | ||
| greatest blessings; among his many achievements, he received the | ||
| 2008-2009 Lane Murray Excellence in Teaching Award from the Windham | ||
| School District in recognition of his steadfast commitment to his | ||
| students and to the highest standards of his profession; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Clemente Rocha faithfully and ably performed his | ||
| duties throughout his tenure with the Texas Department of Criminal | ||
| Justice, and he will long be remembered with great admiration by all | ||
| who were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of | ||
| Clemente Rocha III and extend deepest sympathy to his family, | ||
| friends, and colleagues; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of | ||
| Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Clemente | ||
| Rocha. | ||
