| WHEREAS, Members of the 2016-2017 Leadership Mid Valley class | ||
| are visiting the State Capitol on February 8, 2017, to gain further | ||
| insight into the workings of state government; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Leadership Mid Valley is an exceptional program that | ||
| provides opportunities for participants to develop leadership | ||
| skills and increase their knowledge of vital public issues; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Classes inspire a spirit of activism and provide | ||
| networking opportunities and instruction from knowledgeable | ||
| figures who encourage the participants to acquaint themselves with | ||
| community needs and problems while evaluating possible solutions; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, This year's Leadership Mid Valley class includes | ||
| Roberto Palomares Jr., Linda Calderon, Maria Oralia De los Reyes | ||
| Ph.D., Antonio Lopez Jr., David Arce, Grisel Cavazos, Jason Vargas, | ||
| Hollie Johnston, Maria Cisneros, Ivan Nordhausen, Omar Rodriguez, | ||
| William Feeney, and Lupita Borrego; also in attendance are | ||
| chaperones Laura Espinoza, Robert Donalson, Elizabeth Walker, and | ||
| Andrew Munoz; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Working to foster a more informed and involved | ||
| citizenry and to develop new leaders in South Texas, the Leadership | ||
| Mid Valley program is helping to build a brighter and more promising | ||
| future for the Lone Star State; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby welcome Class XII of the Leadership Mid Valley | ||
| program to the State Capitol and extend to all participants sincere | ||
| best wishes for continued success. | ||
