| WHEREAS, The Canton Autumn Stroll Barbecue Cook-off is taking | ||
| place October 7 and 8, 2011, in Canton; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This popular annual event is held in conjunction | ||
| with the community's Autumn Stroll festivities and is sponsored by | ||
| the City of Canton Main Street Program, which promotes historic | ||
| preservation and economic development in the downtown area; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Sanctioned by the Lonestar Barbecue Society, the | ||
| cook-off features talented chefs facing off against one another to | ||
| produce the tastiest entries in categories such as brisket, pork | ||
| spare ribs, chicken, beans, and salsa; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Canton Autumn Stroll Barbecue Cook-off offers | ||
| spirited competition and some first-rate Texas-style cuisine while | ||
| benefiting a worthwhile community initiative, and attendees are | ||
| sure to enjoy a good time and good company at this fun and friendly | ||
| get-together; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby honor the Canton Autumn Stroll Barbecue Cook-off | ||
| and extend sincere best wishes to all associated with the event; | ||
| and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for the cook-off organizers as an expression of high | ||
| regard by the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
