| WHEREAS, The thousands of deaths caused by COVID-19 in Texas | ||
| have created a tremendous void in families, communities, and | ||
| workplaces throughout the state; among those who lost their lives | ||
| in the pandemic was Sara Margaret Keenom, a dedicated and | ||
| well-respected employee of the Texas Department of Criminal | ||
| Justice, who passed away on March 29, 2021, at the age of 44; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Born on December 7, 1976, in Freeport, Sara Keenom | ||
| was a woman of deep faith who was passionate about helping others; | ||
| she shared a rewarding marriage with her husband of more than 20 | ||
| years, Daniel Keenom, and she was a devoted mother to their son, | ||
| Austyn; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ms. Keenom began her career with TDCJ in January | ||
| 2018 at the Stringfellow Unit in Rosharon, and she was subsequently | ||
| promoted to administrative assistant in the count room at the | ||
| Terrell Unit; she was known for her strong work ethic, her friendly | ||
| demeanor, and her willingness to ensure the success of her | ||
| colleagues; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Sara Keenom faithfully and ably performed her duties | ||
| throughout her tenure with the Texas Department of Criminal | ||
| Justice, and she will long be remembered with great admiration by | ||
| all who were privileged to know her; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the life of | ||
| Sara Margaret Keenom and extend deepest sympathy to her family, | ||
| friends, and colleagues; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of | ||
| Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Sara | ||
| Keenom. | ||
