| WHEREAS, Gail Gonzalez of Austin is retiring as director of | ||
| placement of Child Protective Services for the Texas Department of | ||
| Family and Protective Services on June 30, 2015, drawing to a close | ||
| a notable tenure in health and human services that has spanned | ||
| nearly three decades; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A graduate of Iowa State University, Ms. Gonzalez | ||
| first went to work as a child protective services caseworker in | ||
| Williamson County in June 1988, and over the course of her exemplary | ||
| 27-year career, she has dedicated herself to protecting and caring | ||
| for the Lone Star State's most vulnerable residents; and | ||
| WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, this esteemed Texan has | ||
| enjoyed the love and support of her husband, Bob, and her two | ||
| children, Christina and John; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Deeply committed to her work, Gail Gonzalez has | ||
| helped survivors of abuse and neglect find their footing in the most | ||
| challenging circumstances, and in so doing, she has provided | ||
| countless young Texans with the tools they need to build rewarding | ||
| and productive lives; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Gail Gonzalez on her retirement | ||
| from the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services and | ||
| extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Gonzalez as an expression of high regard by the | ||
| Texas House of Representatives. | ||
