R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The State of Texas lost an extraordinary animal
  advocate with the passing of Robert Lynn Trimble of Dallas on
  June 18, 2022, at the age of 82; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Lynn and Faye Trimble, "Skip" Trimble was
  born on January 31, 1940, and grew up in Oak Cliff with two younger
  sisters, Linda and Karen; he served in the U.S. Marine Corps and
  went on to complete his bachelor's and law degrees at Southern
  Methodist University; after beginning his career with the
  Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., he transferred to the
  Fort Worth office; he entered private practice with the Sands and
  Tyler firm and later became a founding member of Winstead, McGuire,
  Sechrest, and Trimble, a partner in Centre Development and in
  Andrews and Kurth, and finally, a founder of Catlyn Capital
  Corporation; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Trimble shared a fulfilling marriage of 44 years
  with the love of his life, the former Mary Mitchell; she introduced
  him to animal advocacy when a shelter she supported was in need of a
  pro bono lawyer, and he embraced the cause with true passion;
  employing his tremendous warmth and charm, as well as his
  expertise, he made an exceptional impact at both the state and local
  level; he helped establish the Texas Humane Legislation Network,
  and he was instrumental in the passage of a host of bills protecting
  animals, including legislation addressing puppy mills, dog
  fighting, and regulation of breeders; his efforts were key in the
  development of license plates benefiting spay/neuter programs, in
  the formation of the Animal Law Section of the State Bar of Texas,
  in the creation of the Dallas County animal cruelty prosecutor
  position, and in the passage of Dallas's Humane Pet Store
  Ordinance; among many leadership roles, he served as chair of the
  City of Dallas Animal Advisory Commission and on the boards of
  Metroplex Animal Coalition and the Animal Legal Defense Fund; and
         WHEREAS, A man of enormous kindness, Skip Trimble was devoted
  to his large extended family, his many friends, and the well-being
  of all animals, and his great contributions will continue to
  resonate in the years to come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Robert Lynn "Skip"
  Trimble and extend sincere sympathy to all who mourn his passing;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day it do so in memory of Skip
  Trimble.
