R E S O L U T I O N
 
         WHEREAS, Family and a host of friends will forever cherish
  the life of Dorothy Tapley of Emory, who died on May 4, 2011, at the
  age of 72; and
         WHEREAS, Born to Grady and Lessie Brown on June 11, 1938, in
  Texarkana, Arkansas, the former Dot Brown enjoyed the companionship
  of seven siblings, Sam, Roy, Mike, Paul, Beulah, Jean, and Bea; and
         WHEREAS, She married Bob "B. T." Tapley, and the two went on
  to share nearly 40 rewarding years together and to raise five
  children, Mike, Ron, James, Susie, and Teresa; later, they
  delighted in watching their family grow to include three
  grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, A devout Baptist and an accomplished homemaker, Mrs.
  Tapley took great joy in caring for her family and her friends; her
  favorite pastimes included sitting on the front porch on a
  beautiful day, often accompanied by her faithful dog, Cody; she
  also enjoyed observing colorful birds at the feeders that she
  provided outside her kitchen window, and she loved to drop a fishing
  line; and
         WHEREAS, Those fortunate enough to have known Dot Tapley will
  remember the way she touched their lives with her warmth and
  kindness, and she will always hold a treasured place in their
  hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
  Legislature, 1st Called Session, hereby pay tribute to the memory
  of Dorothy Tapley and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her
  family: to her devoted husband, B. T. Tapley; to her children, Mike
  Renfro, Ron Tapley, James Tapley, and Teresa Shiflet and her
  husband, Curtis; to her grandchildren, Robyn Meade, Angela Shiflet,
  and Jason Shiflet; to her sisters, Jean Rounsavall and her husband,
  Ray, and Bea Turner; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Dot Tapley.
