| WHEREAS, A 100th birthday is indeed cause for celebration, | ||
| and Bessie Justiss Cason of Winnsboro marked this significant | ||
| milestone in her life on February 7, 2015; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The former Bessie Justiss was born in Snow Hill in | ||
| 1915 to Una Joe and Willie Lowe Justiss, and she grew up with 11 | ||
| siblings on her family's farm in Morris County; she graduated from | ||
| Daingerfield High School in 1935 and went on to attend Abilene | ||
| Christian College; during World War II, she helped keep the Justiss | ||
| farm operational by driving to Dallas, Shreveport, Tyler, and | ||
| Longview to collect supplies; and | ||
| WHEREAS, She married Eugene Cason in 1946, and the couple | ||
| were blessed with three children, Lowe Ann, Carolyn, and Scott; | ||
| they lived in Daingerfield until 1958, when they moved to Atlanta, | ||
| Texas, for Mr. Cason's work; after retirement, she and her husband | ||
| enjoyed traveling with Mrs. Cason's brothers and sisters to such | ||
| varied destinations as the Arctic Circle and Mexico; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Currently, Mrs. Cason resides in Winnsboro, and she | ||
| looks forward to the annual family reunion at Caddo Lake; she | ||
| delights in spending time with her loved ones, for whom she is a | ||
| source of great wisdom and joy; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Meeting life's challenges with resilience, | ||
| optimism, and determination, Bessie Cason has gracefully reached | ||
| the century mark and continues to enrich the lives of all who are | ||
| fortunate enough to know her; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Bessie Justiss Cason on her 100th | ||
| birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued | ||
| happiness; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mrs. Cason as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
