| WHEREAS, Gissel Idaly Gardea is graduating as the | ||
| valedictorian of the 2013 senior class of Collegiate High School in | ||
| Corpus Christi; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Earning the title of valedictorian requires not only | ||
| intellect and aptitude, but also four years of dedication to the | ||
| highest academic standards; Ms. Gardea has demonstrated a thorough | ||
| understanding of a wide range of subjects, with her favorites being | ||
| math and science; in addition, she participated in numerous | ||
| extracurricular activities, including the student council, the | ||
| prom committee, and the robotics club; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The daughter of proud parents Maria Elena and Sergio | ||
| Gardea, Ms. Gardea will continue her education at Texas A&M | ||
| University, where she plans to study chemical engineering; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Gissel Idaly Gardea | ||
| has earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and | ||
| classmates, and her exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and | ||
| commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless | ||
| opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be | ||
| it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Gissel Idaly Gardea, valedictorian | ||
| of the Collegiate High School Class of 2013, and extend to her | ||
| sincere best wishes for continued success as she begins the next | ||
| exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Gardea as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
