| WHEREAS, The 70th birthday of a distinguished Texan is indeed | ||
| cause for celebration, and John Robert Beemer of Humble is | ||
| observing this milestone on May 31, 2015; and | ||
| WHEREAS, John Beemer was born in 1945 in Klamath Falls, | ||
| Oregon; he grew up in Reno, Nevada, where he attended the University | ||
| of Nevada and earned a bachelor's degree in accounting with a minor | ||
| in Spanish; and | ||
| WHEREAS, For 27 years, Mr. Beemer was a pilot with the United | ||
| States Navy, first in active duty and then in the reserves; he | ||
| served in the Philippines and Vietnam, and he was assigned to an | ||
| aircraft carrier as a weapons officer; additionally, he was part of | ||
| the Airborne Electronic Warfare Squadron in California, and he was | ||
| a navy flight instructor in Texas; he later worked as a private | ||
| commercial jet pilot for five years and as an airline pilot for two | ||
| decades; and | ||
| WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Beemer enjoys the love and | ||
| support of his wife of 38 years, Mary Frances Rojas Beemer, and he | ||
| takes great pride in their two children, Jessica and Jonathan; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Respected and admired by all who are privileged to | ||
| know him, John Beemer may reflect with satisfaction on his many | ||
| achievements, and it is a pleasure to honor him for 70 years of life | ||
| well lived; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 84th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate John Robert Beemer on his 70th | ||
| birthday and extend to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, | ||
| be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Beemer as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
