| WHEREAS, The rank of Eagle Scout is an achievement shared by | ||
| many of this nation's leaders, and the attainment of this | ||
| significant honor by Jason Andrew Deal also heralds a future bright | ||
| with opportunity and promise; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has mastered many important | ||
| skills in his quest to become an Eagle Scout; he has earned merit | ||
| badges requiring expertise in such diverse areas as first aid, | ||
| personal fitness, and environmental science, and he has gained | ||
| experience in leadership and teamwork while undertaking his Eagle | ||
| Scout project, which involved building an outdoor reading center at | ||
| Ben Milam Elementary School in Cameron; Mr. Deal designed and | ||
| manufactured four benches that are used by students who wish to | ||
| enjoy reading while in the open air; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A valued member of his troop, Mr. Deal has served his | ||
| peers as a leader, and in so doing, he has exemplified the many | ||
| positive traits for which Boy Scouts are renowned; and | ||
| WHEREAS, In fulfilling the rigorous requirements for | ||
| attaining the Eagle Scout insignia, Mr. Deal has demonstrated an | ||
| unwavering commitment to the organization and its ideals, and the | ||
| knowledge and confidence he has acquired along the way will indeed | ||
| serve him well in the years to come; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Jason Andrew Deal on achieving the | ||
| rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for | ||
| continued success and happiness; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Deal as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
