| WHEREAS, Deputy Constable Alfonso Fuentes of Hidalgo County | ||
| Precinct 4 and his K9 partner, Max, are being recognized as the | ||
| Canine Detection Team of the Year by the Texas Narcotic Officers | ||
| Association; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Established in 1970, the Texas Narcotic Officers | ||
| Association is a professional training organization for police, | ||
| prosecutors, and other officials who are involved in the | ||
| enforcement of drug laws in the State of Texas; the TNOA Canine | ||
| Detection Team of the Year award recognizes exceptional skill, | ||
| dedication, and effectiveness in the field of narcotics detection; | ||
| and | ||
| WHEREAS, Deputy Constable Alfonso Fuentes began his career | ||
| with Hidalgo County Constable Precinct 4 in 2015, and four years | ||
| later, he became a task force officer for the Hidalgo County | ||
| district attorney's High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas Task | ||
| Force; his many responsibilities have included executing felony or | ||
| federal arrest warrants, engaging in pursuits, and establishing | ||
| probable cause; in addition, he and K9 Max have conducted numerous | ||
| searches of vehicles traveling along highway corridors in Hidalgo | ||
| County, and in fiscal year 2022, several of their traffic stops led | ||
| to the disruption of drug trafficking operations; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Through his commitment to the highest standards of | ||
| his profession, Alfonso Fuentes has helped promote public safety in | ||
| the State of Texas, and he and Max are truly deserving of this | ||
| prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 2nd Called Session, hereby congratulate Deputy | ||
| Constable Alfonso Fuentes and his K9 partner, Max, on their | ||
| selection as the Canine Detection Team of the Year by the Texas | ||
| Narcotic Officers Association and extend to them sincere best | ||
| wishes for continued success with their important work; and, be it | ||
| further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Deputy Constable Fuentes and K9 Max as an expression of | ||
| high regard by the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
