| WHEREAS, Dr. Daniel Voss of Georgetown is serving as the | ||
| Physician of the Day at the State Capitol on May 15, 2013, and he is | ||
| to be commended for his participation in this time-honored | ||
| tradition; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Since 1971, this program has provided for a | ||
| volunteer physician to be on call each day of a legislative session | ||
| to offer medical assistance to legislators and support staff; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Dr. Voss is certified by the American Board of | ||
| Family Medicine; he earned his medical degree from The University | ||
| of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston and completed his residency at | ||
| John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth; he is currently employed by | ||
| the Georgetown Medical Clinic and serves as an assistant clinical | ||
| professor at the Texas A&M University Health Science Center in | ||
| Round Rock; and | ||
| WHEREAS, A member of the Texas and American Academies of | ||
| Family Physicians and the Texas Medical Association, Dr. Voss is | ||
| also a member of the Christian Medical Association and is active in | ||
| his church; despite his demanding schedule, he enjoys hunting and | ||
| tennis and part-time ranching; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Dr. Voss has built an admirable career by devoting | ||
| himself to the health and well-being of others, and it is a pleasure | ||
| to honor him for his service at the State Capitol; now, therefore, | ||
| be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby recognize Dr. Daniel Voss for his contributions | ||
| to the medical profession and commend him for his generous service | ||
| to the Texas Legislature as Physician of the Day; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Dr. Voss as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
