R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Nancy Rister has demonstrated an exemplary
  commitment to public service throughout her 25-year tenure as
  Williamson County Clerk; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Rister was appointed to the office of county
  clerk on June 5, 1998, and went on to win election with more than 80
  percent of the vote the following November; over the past quarter of
  a century, she has applied her accounting and management skills to
  the many duties of the position, and she has been responsible for
  overseeing the modernization of the clerk's office and the
  digitization of the recordkeeping process; in addition to various
  other accolades, she and her staff were recently honored with a 2021
  5 Star Vital Registration Award by the Texas Department of State
  Health Services' Vital Statistics Unit; and
         WHEREAS, Engaged in her professional community, Mrs. Rister
  has held membership in the County and District Clerks' Association
  of Texas, the Property Records Industry Association, and the
  National Association of County Recorders, Election Officials, and
  Clerks; she also previously served on the Attorney General Open
  Records Steering Committee and on the Judicial Data Management
  Project of the Texas Judicial Council; and
         WHEREAS, This dynamic public servant has sought civic
  volunteer opportunities as well, and after moving to Georgetown in
  1989, she joined Newcomers and Friends of Georgetown, the
  Republican Women's Club, and Community Bible Study and became an
  active member of Crestview Baptist Church; she currently belongs to
  the Georgetown Lions and Kiwanis Clubs, and she previously served
  on the Georgetown Main Street Advisory Board and the board of the
  Georgetown Area United Way; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Rister holds a bachelor of business
  administration degree from The University of Texas Permian Basin
  and certification as an investment officer; in all her endeavors,
  she enjoys the support of a treasured family that includes her
  husband, Milton Rister, and their two daughters and four
  grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of her tenure as county clerk, Nancy
  Rister has made significant contributions to the betterment of life
  in Williamson County, and she may take justifiable pride in her
  exemplary record of achievement; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Nancy Rister on her 25 years of dedicated
  service as Williamson County Clerk and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Rister as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
