| WHEREAS, Ben Lai has ably served his fellow Texans as an | ||
| intern in the office of State Representative Chris Turner during | ||
| the fall of 2023; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Lai has provided vital | ||
| assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, such as | ||
| creating content and graphics for social media, drafting | ||
| correspondence with constituents and stakeholders, conducting | ||
| background research, analyzing legislation, and assisting with | ||
| preparations for floor debates and committee hearings; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mr. Lai is a junior at The University of Texas at | ||
| Austin, where he is studying government and Spanish, and he has | ||
| further distinguished himself as a Dell Scholar and a recipient of | ||
| the Texas Excellence scholarship; moreover, he is an undergraduate | ||
| research apprentice and has previously served as a messenger for | ||
| the Texas Senate, as a policy and research intern for the Texas | ||
| Workforce Commission, and as a technical assistant for the Moody | ||
| College of Communication; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed his | ||
| duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and he is | ||
| indeed deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, | ||
| therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature, 4th Called Session, hereby commend Ben Lai for his | ||
| service as a legislative intern in the office of State | ||
| Representative Chris Turner and extend to him sincere best wishes | ||
| for continued success in all his endeavors; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Mr. Lai as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
