WHEREAS, Austin "Rose" Heilman has been presented with a | ||
Rising Star Award by the McNair Scholars Program at Texas A&M | ||
University--Corpus Christi; and | ||
WHEREAS, The McNair Scholars Program is part of the | ||
university's Programs for Academic Student Support (PASS) | ||
initiative, which furthers the goals of TAMU--CC by providing | ||
resources to low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented | ||
students; in receiving a Rising Star Award, Ms. Heilman was | ||
recognized for her progress in academic achievements and program | ||
requirements; and | ||
WHEREAS, A senior at TAMU--CC, where she is currently | ||
majoring in psychology, Ms. Heilman has been selected to present | ||
her student research at the 2017 Association for Psychological | ||
Science convention in Boston; following her graduation, she plans | ||
to pursue a Ph.D. in psychology at the University of Houston; and | ||
WHEREAS, Rose Heilman is indeed deserving of this prestigious | ||
honor, and she may look forward to a future bright with promise; | ||
now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby congratulate Austin "Rose" Heilman on her | ||
receipt of a McNair Scholars Program Rising Star Award and extend to | ||
her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Ms. Heilman as an expression of high regard by the | ||
Texas House of Representatives. | ||
