WHEREAS, After four years of dedicated service, John | ||
Trischitti III is stepping down as assistant director of the Riter | ||
C. Hulsey Public Library in Terrell in May 2011 to accept a new | ||
opportunity; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Trischitti began his affiliation with the | ||
library in 2006 when he was elected to the Friends of the Library | ||
board; he later served that group as president, and in 2007, he | ||
joined the library's staff as assistant director; he is known for | ||
his enthusiasm, humor, and can-do approach, as well as for his | ||
excellent theatrical skills at story time; particularly | ||
knowledgeable about children's literature, he has been a member of | ||
the Texas Library Association's Bluebonnet Award selection | ||
committee and was instrumental in procuring a Texas Reads grant for | ||
the summer reading program from the Texas State Library and | ||
Archives Commission; and | ||
WHEREAS, This native Texan grew up in Lubbock and graduated | ||
from Wayland Baptist University with a double major in English | ||
literature and journalism; he worked for a number of community | ||
newspapers, on a ranch in Wyoming, and with a grocery store chain | ||
before joining the Terrell library; with a recently earned master's | ||
degree in library science from the University of North Texas in | ||
hand, he is leaving to begin a new job as the library director for | ||
Midland County; and | ||
WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Trischitti is supported | ||
by his wife, Diana, and the couple are the proud parents of two | ||
children, Jay and Olivia; and | ||
WHEREAS, John Trischitti's dedication and professionalism | ||
have helped the people of Terrell to further enjoy a treasured | ||
community resource, and he may take justifiable pride in the | ||
important role he has played in keeping Terrell reading; now, | ||
therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
Legislature hereby honor John Trischitti III for his service as the | ||
assistant director of the Riter C. Hulsey Public Library and extend | ||
to him sincere best wishes for success in his new position; and, be | ||
it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Mr. Trischitti as an expression of high regard by the | ||
Texas House of Representatives. | ||
