WHEREAS, Mercedes Virginia Gonzalez is graduating as the | ||
salutatorian of the senior class of Foy H. Moody High School in | ||
2017; and | ||
WHEREAS, Earning the title of salutatorian requires not only | ||
intellect and aptitude but also four years of dedication to the | ||
highest academic standards; Ms. Gonzalez has demonstrated a | ||
thorough understanding of a wide range of subjects, and her | ||
attainment of this coveted distinction is the crowning achievement | ||
of a notable high school career; and | ||
WHEREAS, The daughter of Oscar and Janie Gonzalez, | ||
Ms. Gonzalez plans to continue her education at Southwestern | ||
University, studying biology and business; and | ||
WHEREAS, Throughout her academic career, Mercedes Virginia | ||
Gonzalez has earned the respect and admiration of her teachers and | ||
classmates, and her exceptional scholastic ability, hard work, and | ||
commitment to excellence have opened the way to limitless | ||
opportunities for this remarkable young Texan; now, therefore, be | ||
it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas | ||
Legislature hereby congratulate Mercedes Virginia Gonzalez, | ||
salutatorian of the Class of 2017 at Foy H. Moody High School, and | ||
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success as she | ||
begins the next exciting chapter of her life; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Ms. Gonzalez as an expression of high regard by the | ||
Texas House of Representatives. | ||
