WHEREAS, The citizens of Moore County lost an esteemed | ||
community leader with the death of retired sheriff H. T. Montgomery | ||
on June 3, 2012; and | ||
WHEREAS, Born in 1948 in Oklahoma, "Ted" Montgomery was the | ||
son of Thomas and Juanita Bradley Montgomery; he married Marguerite | ||
Foster in 1969, and the couple became the parents of two beloved | ||
sons; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Montgomery served for many years as the sheriff | ||
of Moore County in the Panhandle, and he was a life member of the | ||
Sheriffs' Association of Texas; he and his wife lived in Chandler, | ||
where they worshiped at First Baptist Church; and | ||
WHEREAS, Ted Montgomery distinguished himself as a dedicated | ||
public servant, and he is remembered with great admiration and | ||
deeply missed; now, therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of H. T. Montgomery and | ||
extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his wife of | ||
42 years, Marguerite Montgomery; to his son, Shelton Montgomery; to | ||
his brothers, Robert, Duane, and Roy Dale Montgomery; and to his | ||
other relatives and friends; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of | ||
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of H. T. | ||
Montgomery. | ||
