| WHEREAS, Officer Diane Bartek retired from the Richardson | ||
| Police Department on February 28, 2010, drawing to a close a notable | ||
| tenure with the department that spanned nearly three decades; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Officer Bartek worked primarily in the patrol and | ||
| investigative divisions, and at the time of her retirement, she | ||
| served as a senior police training officer; she excelled in this | ||
| role, with many of her trainees going on to become supervisors or | ||
| command officers; in addition, she served for a time in the planning | ||
| section, playing an essential part in policy development and | ||
| revisions that led to the department's recognition by the Texas | ||
| Police Chiefs Association; and | ||
| WHEREAS, This outstanding law enforcement professional today | ||
| contributes her expertise and experience to The University of Texas | ||
| at Dallas Police Department, where she is a lieutenant in charge of | ||
| patrol operations; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Diane Bartek's dedication, professionalism, and | ||
| commitment to the safety and welfare of the public greatly | ||
| benefited the citizens of Richardson and earned her the respect and | ||
| admiration of her fellow officers, and it is indeed a pleasure to | ||
| honor her at this time; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Diane Bartek on her retirement from | ||
| the Richardson Police Department and extend to her sincere best | ||
| wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Lieutenant Bartek as an expression of high regard by | ||
| the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
