H.R. No. 2180

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, The Honorable Gene Seaman has continued his notable
service in behalf of his fellow Texans during the 82nd Legislative
Session in his role as the legislative director for State
Representative Raul Torres; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Seaman brings to his work in the statehouse a
wealth of knowledge, experience, and insight gained over the course
of five terms as a member of the Texas House, 40 years as a
businessman in the life insurance industry, and a number of years of
distinguished service as a member of the Army National Guard; and
WHEREAS, A longtime supporter of the Republican Party, this
public-spirited gentleman has worked to elect GOP candidates since
the 1960s, and he shared his leadership with many as chair of the
Nueces County Republican Party for eight years; in 1996, he was
elected to the Texas House of Representatives and ably served the
constituents of District 32 for a decade, concluding his exemplary
tenure at the end of the 79th Legislature in January 2007; and
WHEREAS, Throughout this and previous sessions, Gene Seaman
has made significant contributions to the betterment of life in
Nueces County and beyond, and his wise and able assistance is
greatly appreciated; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas
Legislature hereby honor Gene Seaman for his outstanding service as
the legislative director for the office of State Representative
Raul Torres and commend Mr. Seaman for his ongoing dedication to the
Lone Star State; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Mr. Seaman as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
