R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their
  memories of George Eric Cassity of Las Vegas, Nevada, who passed
  away on September 6, 2020, at the age of 71; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Ardmore, Oklahoma, on April 23, 1949, George
  Cassity was the son of June and Martin Cassity; he enlisted in the
  United States Marine Corps and completed two tours of duty in
  Vietnam; after four years of service to his country, he was
  honorably discharged at the rank of lance corporal; and
         WHEREAS, Following his time in the military, Mr. Cassity made
  his home in North Texas from the 1970s until the mid-1990s, during
  which time he was employed as a credit manager and a truck driver;
  in his later years, he contributed to several nonprofits, including
  Catholic Charities, through his work as an accountant; he was a
  gifted artist as well, and his work was included in a number of art
  exhibitions; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Cassity was blessed with a treasured daughter,
  Kate; he also enjoyed the companionship of his beloved cat, Zeppy;
  and
         WHEREAS, Although George Cassity is deeply missed, he will
  always hold a special place in the hearts of those who held him
  dear; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of George Eric Cassity
  and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to his
  daughter, Kate Cassity-Costa, and her husband, Jerod; to his
  brothers, Martin, Edward, and William Cassity; and to his other
  relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of George
  Cassity.
