| WHEREAS, Kathleen Long retired as a mathematics professor at | ||
| Dallas College Brookhaven Campus on December 31, 2022, drawing to a | ||
| close an exceptional career that spanned 23 years; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Over the course of her tenure at Dallas College | ||
| Brookhaven, Ms. Long distinguished herself as a developmental math | ||
| instructor; passionate about her work in the classroom, she | ||
| inspired countless students in their lives and careers; in | ||
| recognition of her skill and dedication, she was awarded a | ||
| 2013-2014 Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation Excellence in Teaching | ||
| Award from the Dallas County Community College District; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Ms. Long earned a bachelor of science degree from | ||
| West Texas State University in 1986 and a master of science degree | ||
| from Texas Woman's University in 2000; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Kathleen Long has demonstrated the spirit and | ||
| commitment that are the hallmarks of our best educators, and she may | ||
| indeed take pride in a career well spent as she embarks on the next | ||
| exciting chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Kathleen Long on her retirement as | ||
| a mathematics professor at Dallas College Brookhaven Campus and | ||
| extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for Ms. Long as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
