R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Kathleen Long retired as a mathematics professor at
  Dallas College Brookhaven Campus on December 31, 2022, drawing to a
  close an exceptional career that spanned 23 years; and
         WHEREAS, Over the course of her tenure at Dallas College
  Brookhaven, Ms. Long distinguished herself as a developmental math
  instructor; passionate about her work in the classroom, she
  inspired countless students in their lives and careers; in
  recognition of her skill and dedication, she was awarded a
  2013-2014 Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation Excellence in Teaching
  Award from the Dallas County Community College District; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Long earned a bachelor of science degree from
  West Texas State University in 1986 and a master of science degree
  from Texas Woman's University in 2000; and
         WHEREAS, Kathleen Long has demonstrated the spirit and
  commitment that are the hallmarks of our best educators, and she may
  indeed take pride in a career well spent as she embarks on the next
  exciting chapter of her life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Kathleen Long on her retirement as
  a mathematics professor at Dallas College Brookhaven Campus and
  extend to her sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Long as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
