R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The tragic passing of Martha Elisa Mendez of Dallas
  on January 23, 2020, at the age of 21, has brought an immeasurable
  loss to the many people who loved her; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Dallas on March 13, 1998, to Dominga and
  Enrique Mendez, Martha Mendez grew up with the companionship of two
  brothers, Enrique and Jorge; a proud graduate of Woodrow Wilson
  High School, she was taking classes at Eastfield College at the time
  of her passing; she had already succeeded in establishing herself
  as an entrepreneur, serving as the co-owner of M&N Treats; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Mendez was an animal lover who enjoyed baking,
  painting, and spending time with her friends and family; her
  passion for travel led her to many destinations, including the
  states of California, Colorado, and Florida and the cities of New
  York, Mexico City, Guanajuato, San Luis, and Cabo San Lucas;
  free-spirited and fun-loving, she was further blessed with a kind
  heart and an unfailing ability to see the best in everyone; and
         WHEREAS, Martha Mendez was a ray of light in the lives of all
  those who held her dear, and though her passing has brought immense
  sorrow, she has left behind a legacy of love that will never be
  forgotten; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Martha Elisa Mendez
  and extend profound condolences to the members of her family: to her
  parents, Dominga and Enrique Mendez; to her brothers, Enrique and
  Jorge Mendez; to her grandparents, Delfina and Camerino Lira and
  Laurencia Loera de Mendez; to her aunts, uncles, and cousins; and to
  her other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Martha
  Mendez.
