WHEREAS, During the 83rd Legislative Session, Mark | ||
Thorne-Thomsen has ably served his fellow Texans as a member | ||
of "Team Springer" | ||
in the Texas House of Representatives; and | ||
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Thorne-Thomsen has | ||
contributed to the workings of state government firsthand; in | ||
addition to learning more about the legislative process and the | ||
issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State, he has gained | ||
valuable work experience in the field of public service, | ||
researching and reviewing legislation and ensuring optimal | ||
communication with district constituents; and | ||
WHEREAS, Mr. Thorne-Thomsen previously worked as a | ||
government affairs analyst for BNSF Railway in Washington, D.C., | ||
and interned with Berry Communications as a campaign researcher; | ||
more recently, he helped set up fund-raising events, grassroots | ||
outreach programs, and direct mail strategies for the historic | ||
campaign of U.S. Senator Ted Cruz; and | ||
WHEREAS, In addition to his legislative work, | ||
Mr. Thorne-Thomsen is actively involved in campus life at The | ||
University of Texas, where he is a member of the Silver Spurs and | ||
Kappa Sigma Fraternity; he is receiving his bachelor's degree in | ||
government in May 2013; and | ||
WHEREAS, This noteworthy young Texan has performed his duties | ||
as a legislative assistant with skill and dedication, and he is | ||
indeed deserving of special recognition for his fine work as he | ||
moves on to pursue his career at Oracle in California; now, | ||
therefore, be it | ||
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas | ||
Legislature hereby commend Mark Thorne-Thomsen for his service as a | ||
legislative assistant in the office of State Representative Drew | ||
Springer and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued | ||
success in all his endeavors; and, be it further | ||
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
prepared for Mr. Thorne-Thomsen as an expression of high regard by | ||
the Texas House of Representatives. | ||
