| WHEREAS, Great Beginnings Early Childhood Center at St. Paul | ||
| Lutheran Church in Harlingen has received Texas Rising Star | ||
| certification from the Texas Workforce Commission; and | ||
| WHEREAS, The Texas Rising Star initiative is a quality rating | ||
| and improvement system for child care programs participating in | ||
| TWC's Child Care Services program; certification is available to | ||
| child care centers throughout the state that demonstrate a | ||
| consistent and high level of compliance with Child Care Regulation | ||
| minimum standards; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Great Beginnings is a faith-based organization that | ||
| serves children between the ages of six weeks and three years; ably | ||
| led by director Carla Wisdom, the program includes chapel services, | ||
| meals, and instructional activities; moreover, the center utilizes | ||
| Frog Street Curriculum, which is comprehensive and research-based | ||
| and aligns with state and federal standards; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Great Beginnings plays a vital role in providing | ||
| young Texans with a strong foundation on which to build, and this | ||
| well-deserved designation is a testament to the skill and | ||
| dedication of its administrators and staff; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 89th Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby congratulate Great Beginnings Early Childhood | ||
| Center on receiving Texas Rising Star certification from the Texas | ||
| Workforce Commission and extend to all those associated with the | ||
| program sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it | ||
| further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for the center as an expression of high regard by the Texas | ||
| House of Representatives. | ||
