R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Gabriela H. Paz has been presented with an
Outstanding Award from the Student Support Services--STEM program
at Texas A&M University--Corpus Christi; and
WHEREAS, SSS-STEM is part of the university's Programs for
Academic Student Support (PASS) initiative, which furthers the
goals of TAMU--CC by providing resources to low-income,
first-generation, and underrepresented students; in receiving an
Outstanding Award, Ms. Paz was recognized for her academic
achievements as a student majoring in a science, technology,
engineering, or mathematics field of study; and
WHEREAS, A native of San Benito, Ms. Paz is a sophomore at
TAMU--CC, where she is working toward a bachelor's degree in
nursing; after graduating, she plans to pursue a career as a nurse
at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital; and
WHEREAS, Gabriela Paz is indeed deserving of this prestigious
honor, and she may look forward to a future bright with promise;
now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 85th Texas
Legislature hereby congratulate Gabriela H. Paz on her receipt of
an SSS-STEM Outstanding Award and extend to her sincere best wishes
for continued success; and, be it further

ESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Ms. Paz as an expression of high regard by the Texas
House of Representatives.
