H.R. No. 1981

R E S O L U T I O N
WHEREAS, Monsignor Larry Droll of St. Ann's Catholic Parish
in Midland is celebrating the 40th anniversary of his ordination on
June 15, 2013; and
WHEREAS, Born in a small farming community east of San
Angelo, Larry Droll grew up in the Rowena area and attended
St. Joseph's Catholic School; he studied at seminaries in San
Antonio and in Collegeville, Minnesota, and was ordained in 1973;
and
WHEREAS, Monsignor Droll has served as a priest in three
parishes of the Diocese of San Angelo, including in Ozona and Wall;
he was named pastor of St. Ann's parish in Midland in 2004 and was
conferred with the papal honor of monsignor in 2009; in addition to
his service at the parish level, he has served the diocese as
vocation director, chancellor, and vicar general; and
WHEREAS, Over the past four decades, this esteemed clergyman
has exemplified the highest standards of his vocation, and his
leadership has provided invaluable inspiration and guidance to his
community of faith; now, therefore, be it
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 83rd Texas
Legislature hereby honor Monsignor Larry Droll on the 40th
anniversary of his ordination and extend to him sincere best wishes
for the future; and, be it further
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
prepared for Monsignor Droll as an expression of high regard by the
Texas House of Representatives.
