| WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Edna E. | ||
| Henderson Anderson of Waco, who passed away on April 5, 2011, at the | ||
| age of 94; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Born to Rufus and Amanda Evans on August 1, 1916, in | ||
| the Rosenthal community of McLennan County, Edna Anderson was a | ||
| longtime employee of the Waco-McLennan County Library; she secured | ||
| the library's first bookmobile and drove it herself, and she also | ||
| played an instrumental role in the establishment of branch | ||
| libraries; and | ||
| WHEREAS, In her free time, Mrs. Anderson wrote three novels | ||
| and published poetry; she also wrote music and played the violin and | ||
| guitar; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Mrs. Anderson enjoyed a fulfilling marriage with her | ||
| husband, Joe Henderson, and they became the parents of three | ||
| children, Joe, David, and Paul; after Mr. Henderson's death, this | ||
| esteemed woman was fortunate enough to find love a second time; she | ||
| married Burton Anderson and shared her life with him until his | ||
| passing; and | ||
| WHEREAS, Edna Anderson inspired countless people with her | ||
| love for the written word, her engagement in the world around her, | ||
| and her generosity of spirit, and she leaves behind a legacy to | ||
| treasure for those who held her dear; now, therefore, be it | ||
| RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 82nd Texas | ||
| Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Edna E. Henderson | ||
| Anderson and extend sincere condolences to the members of her | ||
| family: to her sons, Joe L. Henderson and his wife, Dorinda, David | ||
| Henderson and his wife, Josfine, and Paul Henderson and his wife, | ||
| Diane; to her grandchildren and their spouses, Steve, Angela, Clay, | ||
| Scott and Leslie, Jason and Jennifer, and Stephanie and Mike; to her | ||
| great-grandchildren and their spouses, Brandon and Lauren, Heath | ||
| and Kayla, Crystal, Seth, Jesse, Tyler, and Tyler; to her | ||
| great-great-grandchildren, Gabby Lou and Cooper; and to her other | ||
| relatives and friends; and, be it further | ||
| RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be | ||
| prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of | ||
| Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Edna | ||
| Anderson. | ||
